The following is a letter from the Fairfield High School Football Coaching Staff: Dear Parent/ Guardian, 6-5-22 I hope your summer is going well. As we move through the summer, I wanted to invite your 6th-8th grade football players to the Junior High Eagle Football Camp. One important step to maintaining a competitive program is time invested into the younger players. Fairfield has a rich student-athlete tradition and having your child being a part of that is important. The Junior High Eagle Football Camp will be held July 11th, 12th and 13th from 6:30pm-8:00pm at Fairfield High School. The cost of the camp is free. There will be a registration form on the Eagle Pride Facebook page or paper forms will be available at camp registration. The purpose of the camp is to teach safe football fundamentals and to learn our offensive/ defensive schemes. These schemes are the same that are implemented by the high school team. Unity and consistency is a key to the success of our student-athletes. If you have any questions, please feel free to call (989-329-8701) or email me at gmisner@fairfield.k12.mt.us. We are looking forward to helping your student-athlete succeed both on the field and off. Go Eagles, Greg Misner Head Football Coach Fairfield High School

The 4-8th grade band students took a short trip to Front Range Assisted Living on May 3 to perform the pieces for their upcoming music program. It was a great opportunity for them to give back to the community and polish their skills before the concert.

Cost is 65.00 and you receive free privileges to golf at the course all year and hit unlimited range balls. This is better than a JR. MEMBERSHIP at the golf course that is $75.00 and does not include range ball hitting. In addition you have the chance to participate in 5 golf tournaments around the area (1 is in Fairfield) (This is an added expense but is optional) If you are interested, please go to: www. fairfieldeagles.com and then go to the QUICK LINK section and select SSA registration. We have a change to the planned interviews for Tuesday evening. Unfortunately, Jacob Alford had to withdraw his application. We were going to do a remote interview with Jarid Lawson at the regular board meeting on Monday (4/11), but we will move that interview to Tuesday evening. Because will only be one candidate there in person, the "Meet and Greet" will start at 6:30 pm instead of 6:15 as previously planned. Jarid Lawson is currently teaching in Queen Creek, AZ. He has a degree in Elementary Education and is currently working on a graduate certificate in School Administration and Supervision with an expected completion date of May 2023.

As previously shared, the Greenfield School Board of Trustees will be meeting on Tuesday, April 12 to interview candidates for the principal position. There will be a "Meet & Greet" with the candidates from 6:15-7:00 in the lunch room and music room. At 7:00, the meeting will be called to order in the music room. The public is welcome and invited to attend. There are two candidates who will be interviewing for the position. Julia Maxwell is currently teaching kindergarten-3rd grade for Ulm Public Schools at the Fairhaven Colony. She previously taught the middle school grades at Ulm and has also taught at Cascade. Her qualifications include a BS in Elementary Education from MSU-Northern and is completing a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University. She will complete this coursework in the spring/summer of 2022. Jacob Alford has previously taught 1st and 2nd grade for the Reedpoint and Ronan School Districts. His most recent position was as the activities director at Loyola Sacred Heart High School in Missoula. He has an Elementary Education degree from the University of Phoenix and will complete a master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Montana in 2023.

The Greenfield junior high track participants have a meet in Choteau on Friday, April 8. Due to scheduling issues for Fairfield, Mrs. Cooley will be driving our bus for the whole track team after she completes her route in the morning. Those riding Mrs. Beachy's bus to Greenfield should transfer to Mrs. Cooley's bus immediately upon getting to the school. She will drive them into Fairfield and pick up the rest of the team at Fairfield Elementary School. Those living in Fairfield do not need to come out to the school in the morning. They can meet at the school in Fairfield. After the meet, all students will be dropped off at the school in Fairfield.

On Tuesday, April 12, there will be a special meeting of the Greenfield School District Board of Trustees. They will be conducting interviews for the next principal. We will be hosting a "Meet and Greet" from 6:15-7:00 where everyone is invited to come and meet the candidates. At 7:00, the board will call the meeting to order and explain the interview process. After that, we will ask that any candidates not interviewing at that time to exit the room as a courtesy to whomever is interviewing. It is a public meeting, so anyone who would like to observe is welcome to stay. At the conclusion of each interview, the board may vote to move to executive session to allow the board and candidate to discuss matters where the public's right to know is outweighed by the individual's right to privacy. This is standard practice that can be exercised by the board during any interview or regular board meeting. During executive session, the board members, administrator, clerk, and interviewee will be the only members present. All others must leave the room temporarily. Once all interviews have been completed, the board will likely choose to go to executive session to evaluate the interviews and make a decision. Once that has been done, the executive session will be closed, and the board will open the meeting to the public and announce their decision. Feel free to share this information with anyone you think may be interested in attending.

Mrs. Lee and Ms. Sand took the 3rd and 4th graders on a field trip on March 23 to observe all of the wildlife at Freezout Lake. They had a great day and got to see lots of different birds including thousands of snow geese. It was a great day to appreciate one of the attractions in our area that often gets overlooked by the locals. Thank you Mrs. Lee and Ms. Sand for taking them, and thank you Mandy Beachy for driving the bus!

We are so fortunate to have a scene like this in our "backyard!"
Look at all of those snow geese!
That's a lot of snow geese!
Don't forget, junior high track practice begins today for students participating in grades 6-8. The activity bus will run from Greenfield School every day that it is possible. If you would like your child to ride the activity bus, please remember to send their $25 payment to help offset the costs for the district. Parents are responsible for picking up students in Fairfield after practice ends at 5:30.
